Mom-in-law Tours Odawara Castle

Before arriving in Japan, mom-in-law would always talk about going to one of the castles in Japan. And even when she arrived would always remind us that she wanted to see at least one castle before she leaves. No doubt, castles are one of her fascinations. Luckily, the closest castle is just less than an hour travel from where we live — the Odawara Castle. We couldn’t wait to tour her around.

My husband just had his shoulder surgery but that didn’t stop us from going. To date, he’s doing well and out of the sling, following a physical therapy 2 to 3 times a week.

Mom-in-law’s priceless happiness when she toured the castle. She also bought some souvenirs for the family.

We took a tour inside the Castle’s museum as well. The museum gave us a retrospective look to the nice collection of artifacts, samurai armors, and weapons of the 15th century until the Edo period which were all very impressive. They really did a great job in persevering them. I recommended that you visit the castle’s museum and you can be assured that your trip will not be a disappointment unless you have no interest in the mesmerizing history of Japan.
