El Nido Palawan Travel Guide

Most Filipinos have misconception that El Nido is an expensive place to be. Nope, El Nido is not about expensive hotels or resorts, in fact, El Nido is a very humble place that is cheaper than living in the Metro.

can you post links or contact numbers for the island hopping. I plan to go to El Nido with my friends as backpackers and it is our first time. Also nice blog. It is very helpful for me in planning our trip.

Hi Mitch, when you get to El Nido, there are a lot of island hopping operators to choose from (same prices). So there’s no need to contact them or reserve in advance. Just be show up and book on the spot 😉

    Hi Ada!

I love your blog, especially the high resolution good quality photos, that’s something I always notice 😉

I also traveled to El Nido last year and fell in love with this place immediately. The best thing is that is not as expensive as other tropical destinations like Bora Bora or Seycheles. I also just posted a comprehensive travel guide to El Nido, including places to stay, what to do, where to eat, expenses and useful travel tips. If you are interested, you can read it here:

Nice article Ada. Managed to find a place in El Nido for just 300p a night, so definitely doesn’t have to be expensive. A lot of travelers seem to move on to Coron, but miss out on the gems in between, around Linapacan. Helping some boat operator friends set up inexpensive tours at I usually pass through El Nido on my visa extensions every two months and enjoy playing viola with some of the local bands. Great music scene here.

Thank you very much for the comment Karel. I checked the website of the boat tours and it’s a great deal. Will probably book with them when I visit El Nido this summer!
